Gawr Gura is an English-speaking VTuber who debuted with hololive English -Myth- on 13 September 2020. The character is a shark-girl (“same-chan” in Japanese fandom) whose streams mixed chatting, games, and karaoke.
She became one of the most subscribed VTuber channels of the 2020s and a default example of what an agency Live2D talent looks like at scale: company IP, 3D lives, clip culture, and a generation of genmates.
Graduation
Gura announced she would graduate from Hololive on 1 May 2025, after disagreements with management direction. Graduation in VTuber agencies usually means the character stays with the company and the performer steps away from that persona. VODs and the official talent page remain the archive.
This directory marks her graduated, not “deleted.” Searchers still look up the name; the honest status is part of good SEO.
Model
Public streams used a Live2D facecam-style avatar; Hololive 3D lives used a separate 3D model. That split is normal at agencies.
