Who we are
BeTuber publishes VTuber guides, a talent directory, and related educational content. You can contact us at [email protected].
This policy covers:
- the marketing and editorial site at betuber.com
- language versions of that site (English, Spanish, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese)
- related first-party properties such as app.betuber.com and vtuber.betuber.com when they are loaded from this site (for example the live demo)
If a product has a more specific privacy notice, that notice applies in addition to this one.
Information we collect
Information you provide
The public website is primarily editorial. We do not require an account to read articles. If you email us, we receive the address and content you send, and we use that only to respond and keep a record of the request.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our servers, content-delivery networks, and third-party vendors may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location derived from IP
- browser type, language, device type, operating system, and screen information
- pages viewed, referring URL, date and time, and approximate time on page
- identifiers stored in cookies, local storage, pixels, web beacons, or similar technologies
We do not collect precise GPS location on this website.
Cookies, pixels, and other identifiers
We and third parties use cookies, web beacons, pixels, device identifiers, and similar technologies to operate the site, measure traffic, and serve ads. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. A web beacon (including pixels in ads or emails) can record that a page or ad was viewed.
Details, cookie categories, and how to manage them are in our Cookie Policy.
Advertising — Google AdSense (required disclosures)
This site uses Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Third parties may be placing and reading cookies on your browser, or using web beacons, pixels, or IP addresses to collect information as a result of ad serving on this website. Those parties may collect or receive information about your use of this site and other websites (including through cookies, web beacons, and identifiers) and use that information to provide measurement services and to serve targeted ads.
How Google uses data: to comply with Google’s publisher disclosure obligation, we provide this prominent link: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. See also Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses cookies in advertising.
If other certified ad networks serve ads on this site in the future, we will name them here and link to their opt-out pages when they offer one. You can also use www.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.
Google advertising cookies that may be set include, among others, cookies such as __gads, __gpi, _gcl_au, NID, and IDE (including cookies on doubleclick.net). Names and lifetimes can change; treat this list as illustrative.
We do not use Google advertising to target personalized ads based on:
- activity by users we know to be under 13
- activity on portions of a site directed at children under 13
- inferred or actual sensitive categories prohibited by Google’s publisher policies (including health, sexual orientation, religion, and similar categories)
Analytics — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages, approximate location, device, and traffic sources). Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga, _ga_*, and _gid.
You can opt out of Google Analytics in your browser with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. More about Google Analytics and privacy.
Fonts, embeds, and other Google or third-party services
- Google Fonts may load typefaces from Google’s servers, which can receive your IP address.
- The homepage demo can load vtuber.betuber.com in an iframe after you choose to load it. That property may set its own cookies and collect device information as described in its own notices.
- Links to YouTube, Twitch, X, and other platforms are outbound. Those sites have their own policies.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- provide, secure, and improve the site
- measure audience and content performance
- show ads, including personalized ads where allowed, and measure ad performance
- detect abuse, fraud, and invalid traffic
- respond to requests you send us
- comply with law and Google publisher requirements
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or equivalent Swiss rules apply, we process personal data on these bases as applicable:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, analytics storage, ad storage, ad personalization, and sharing of ad user data, where required by the ePrivacy Directive and Google’s EU User Consent Policy. You can withdraw consent at any time via the consent message (where shown) or the tools in the Cookie Policy.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure the site, understand aggregate traffic, and defend against fraud, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.
- Contract — if you use a BeTuber product that has its own terms.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we obtain consent for cookies and for the collection, sharing, and use of personal data for ads personalization where legally required, using a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework when personalized ads are served in those regions. See Google’s EU User Consent Policy.
How we share information
We share information with:
- Google (AdSense, Analytics, Fonts, and related advertising and measurement products), as described above and in Google’s policies
- infrastructure providers that host or deliver the site (for example hosting and CDN partners acting as processors)
- professional advisers or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising technologies may constitute a “sale” or “share” of personal information under some U.S. state laws. See Do Not Sell or Share.
We do not pass information to Google that Google could use or recognize as personally identifiable information in a way that would violate Google’s Identifying Users policy. We do not merge personally identifiable information with non-PII collected via Google ads without robust notice and prior opt-in consent.
International transfers
We and our vendors (including Google) may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers from the EEA/UK rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the vendor’s stated transfer mechanism.
Retention
Server logs and security records are kept only as long as needed for security, abuse prevention, and legal obligations, then deleted or aggregated. Advertising and analytics identifiers follow the retention periods of those vendors (see Google’s policies). Email you send us is kept as long as needed to handle the request and our records.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (HTTPS, access limits, and vendor security reviews) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your rights
EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR / FADP)
You may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example the ICO in the UK or your EU member-state authority).
Brazil (LGPD)
If the Brazilian General Data Protection Law applies, you may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion of unnecessary data, information about sharing, and revocation of consent, by emailing [email protected]. You may also contact the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD).
Japan (APPI)
If Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information applies, you may request disclosure, correction, cessation of use, or deletion of retained personal data, subject to the exceptions in the Act, by emailing [email protected].
California and other U.S. states (CCPA/CPRA and similar)
Residents of California and of other U.S. states with similar laws may have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, to opt out of sale or sharing (including cross-context behavioral advertising), to limit use of sensitive personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a “limit the use” control beyond advertising opt-outs described here.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected] or use Do Not Sell or Share. You may use an authorized agent as permitted by law. We will verify requests with information reasonably necessary to confirm your identity.
Categories we may collect or disclose for business or commercial purposes include identifiers (IP, cookie IDs), internet activity (pages viewed, ad interactions), and approximate geolocation. We disclose these categories to advertising and analytics partners such as Google.
Children (COPPA and similar)
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not use interest-based advertising to target users we know to be under 13, or activity on child-directed properties.
If you are in a region where the digital age of consent is 16 (or another age), you should only use the site if you meet that age or have valid consent from a holder of parental responsibility.
Some articles discuss adult creator platforms. Those pages are intended for adults. If you believe we have collected information from a child, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Cookie and ad choices
You can control cookies through:
- the consent message, where shown (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and certain U.S. states)
- Google Ads Settings
- www.aboutads.info
- Your Online Choices (Europe)
- NAI opt-out
- your browser’s cookie and tracking settings
- the Cookie Policy
Blocking cookies may limit personalized ads; you may still see contextual ads.
Changes
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The “updated” date at the top of this page is the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
